My system doesn't recognize wireless either out of the box. I use this; sudo -i
aptitude install firmware-brcm80211 wireless-tools
modprobe -r brcmsmac ; modprobe brcmsmac and suddenly I have wireless. But ... it only works in Live session and after you have done the first upgradeHope that helps.
